Curriculum

Taught by a seasoned pen tester, this short course delivers practical training. You will use a private lab and the Tenable suite of vulnerability management tools to learn about how to minimise your organisation’s exposure to security breaches.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Define a vulnerability and why they exist.

  • Identify key elements that make up a true Vulnerability Assessment.

  • Define why asset discovery and classification is important.

  • Prioritise vulnerabilities.

  • Deploy real-world Vulnerability Management tools including installation, configuration and UI interaction. Analyse and understand results, generate reports, determine false positives and implement operational processes to improve scores (patching, config reviews, updates/upgrades).

  • Recognise that not all highs, mediums or lows are created equal in report results.

If you need vulnerability management training, then I’d absolutely recommend the CPA program. The tutor’s knowledge, matched with the hands-on exercises gave me invaluable awareness and training for mitigating vulnerability risks.
